School Athletics Day

Braving sub arctic temperatures (ok an exageration but blimmin cold for November) the kids had a wonderful morning doing the rounds of the sports field on the various activities Here is Joe cool as a cucumber waiting his turn at the high jump.

Flew over so fast I missed it!

Nick and Luc - sushi time!

The big race! Joe on the left and his friend Freddie in the green on the right. Neither won but both gave it their all!

Look at our stawberries... yum!

Thank you Grandma for the beautiful roses from your garden. They looked lovely and Nana loved having a bunch in her room when she was here last week.

Guy Fawkes night

Yes, they are insane.

Wilton Cake Decorating - Course 1

The boys cam expect some lovely flowery creations for the next birthday cake... well maybe not but it was great fun learning. The top cake is Margot's (unfinished) cake and mine is the blue beauty. Tasted as good as it looks...

Kindy trip to Mt Eden and the Sky Tower

A rotton old windy rainy day but the kids didn't seem to mind and all had a blast. First it was up to the volcano (stinct Nick told me) for a run around and morning tea then onto the Sky Tower. High jinks and excitement meant a tired wee boy that afternoon, not to mention tired mother... well it was the day after the big run!

The Auckland half marathon

I did it! 2 hours 2 minutes of hard slog but I got there and ran all the way which was the aim. Cam and the boys were at the finish but with so many people running through didn't get to see Mum past the line. Next year! Have this week used my birthday present massage and pedicure at the lovely East Day Spa. Feeling human again, phew.

Halloween

Off to a bad start with Nick tripping up at the food hall at our group dinner prior to Trick or Treating and knocking one of his bottom tooth out of place. Off to White Cross emergency for him and Dad. Joe had a lovely time though and came back with lots of booty... still eating it now in fact! Nick had a trip to the dentist yesterday for an xray. The tooth is still there but very wobbly so just a waiting game to see if it will reattach to the root... fingers crossed!

Labour weekend at Pauanui

We were very fortunate to be able to borrow the Brown's bach at Pauanui for the long weekend. The weather was beautiful, the kids even had a swim (yes it was freezing!) We played mini golf, went to the beach and relaxed. A lovely weekend away.

Jenny's 50th in Napier

Cam and I had a fantastic time at our friend Jenny's 50th birthday party in Napier. We made the most of being child free with lunch's and dinners out and late nights with a sleep in... bliss! We also got to road test the new bikes from Jenny's bike touring business along the beautiful Napier waterfront, thanks Jenny for a fab weekend.

The Artist

At the end of last term Joe won the art competition for the six year old's at school with his fantastic close up of a lions face. We were thrilled to see his picture at the supermarket where there was an art exhibition made up of the winners from all the local schools.

Puanui with the Tyrell's

Second week of the holidays we were very fortunate to be invited to the Tyrell's family beach house for a few days. The kids had a blast and formed their own secret club (no adults allowed!)

Welly with the Swann's

I had a wonderful time with Lisa, Richard, Oliver, William and Lily when I went to Wellington for the WOW awards. The show was amazing and Cam is keen to go next year. Lisa and I had a lovely time catching up, and I got lots of cuddles with devine Lily. (Lily pictured here in a beautiful smocked dress by Grandma Mount.)
